We support like-minded, passionate organisations that share the same vision for social and cultural changed and we’re proud to be on the board for:
NitroBEAT (2015 – present).
nitroBEAT is the next phase of Nitro Music Theatre, which itself evolved from The Black Theatre Co-op established in 1979. Respected for powerful theatre and performance exploring the contemporary black British experience for over 36 years, the company’s journey tells an important story about Britain’s changing social and artistic landscapes.
With roots as the touchstone of a major cultural movement in Britain, nitroBEAT is an evolution and a vital collective urge to drive the vision forward into a new era – bringing together known and undiscovered talent and creating performances with a rebellious streak – intuitively and without labels.
“With a refreshed vision to experiment and push the boundaries of music, theatre and live events our new leadership model consists of new key leadership and governance positions. Sharnita K Athwal was approached to join our board because of her relentless commitment to innovation, talent development and the execution of the highest quality events, festivals and creative projects that defy categorisation and reach wide audiences. Sharnita’s unique and valuable expertise as a creative and business woman is aligned with nitroBEAT’s aims and will help to lead the company boldly into its next exciting phase.”
